The first major health assessment for five Southeast counties in Missouri was completed in the Summer of 2005The health study was a BRFSS (Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Assessment) study that evaluated health practices of the counties residents.  The BRFSS study covered Butler, Carter, Reynolds, Ripley, and Wayne counties in Missouri.
